About Dick Wadhams

Dick Wadhams served as Colorado Republican state chairman from 2007 to 2011.  He is a columnist for the Denver Gazette and the Colorado Springs Gazette and he is a political analyst for KCNC-TV/CBS Colorado.

He worked for U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong for nine years in Colorado and Washington, D.C. before managing campaigns for U.S. Senator Hank Brown in 1990 and U.S. Senator Wayne Allard in 1996 and 2002.

Wadhams was campaign manager for Governor Bill Owens in 1998 when Owens became the first Republican governor to be elected in 28 years and he remains the only Republican governor to serve in the past 52 years.

He was campaign manager for U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota in 2004 when Thune unseated Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle which was the first time sitting Senate leader had been defeated for reelection in 52 years.

Wadhams is a native of Las Animas in rural southeastern Colorado and he is a graduate of Colorado State University-Pueblo.
