Our Priorities
Courageous Colorado’s 2030 Agenda is our roadmap for a more open, representative, and trusted democracy.
This agenda grew out of conversations with Coloradans across the state. We began with a 20-stop Listening Tour, hearing directly from residents, local leaders, and community organizations about what is working in our democracy, what isn’t, and where change is needed. We paired those insights with research and expertise from democracy leaders in Colorado and across the country.
From that work, three interconnected priorities emerged:
Increase Voter Power
Open up the political process so more Coloradans have a meaningful voice in who represents them and how candidates reach the ballot.
Expand Representation
Create elections that give voters more choice and produce governing bodies that better reflect the communities they serve.
Build Trust & Transparency
Strengthen the systems, resources, and rules that make government and elections more transparent, accountable, and accessible.
These priorities all advance our larger goal: a more open Colorado democracy.
From Agenda to Action
Our 2030 Agenda is designed to evolve as we learn, build partnerships, and identify opportunities for meaningful reform.
Through our statewide tours, local community work, research, and cross-partisan coalition, we are working with Coloradans to explore these ideas, identify solutions that fit individual communities, and build the relationships needed to turn promising reforms into action.
Some of this work will happen locally. Some will require statewide policy change. And some ideas will take years to build. Our role is to help connect those efforts into a long-term strategy for making Colorado democracy stronger, more open, and more representative.
